Our Process
Good Morning Studio has been collaborating with Omek to create a vibrant, culturally resonant brand identity that celebrates the African diaspora and connects a global community.
The logo is inspired by the street vernacular of Guinea, representing Omek's global reach. The wordmark reflects stencils commonly found on street signs in Conakry, with the "O" and "e" mimicking the earth’s axis, tilted at 23.5 degrees. The globe logo symbolizes the connection between two sides of the world, reflecting the bicultural experience of the African diaspora. On apparel and merch, the logo and wordmark can be used separately, offering flexibility across different media and formats.
The brand’s expansive color palette draws from the natural beauty of sunsets and sunrises around the world, further emphasizing Omek’s global identity. Over three years, we developed a library of community portraits that capture Omek's spirit of joy, belonging, and forward-thinking ambition. The photography approach was simple and stripped-back, allowing community members to fully express themselves and embody the essence of Omek.
The website weaves together brand elements and video integration, providing users with an engaging, content-rich experience. The Omek app, built on Circle’s white-label platform, was customized with vibrant color photography and animated GIFs to create an interactive experience that aligns with the brand’s identity.
Custom illustrations and iconography were developed to enhance Omek's digital presence, adding a playful yet cohesive visual language to the website, social media, and community events, while maintaining the brand's core aesthetic.
